Dear Sindri and Birkir

I've prepared a series of video interactivity examples poised to enhance your tourism campaign. To tailor these ideas specifically to your brand, let's schedule a 'Creative Development' meeting. You'll meet our creative team, including the Creative Director, to brainstorm personalized concepts that align with your goals.

Post-discussion, we'll outline a campaign strategy and budget that fits your vision. If you have any questions or wish to discuss further, feel free to contact me directly.

I'm looking forward to the possibility of creating something truly impactful together.

Interactive Video Types

Branching

Branching is a great gamification device where users get to choose what happens next. Take Visit Germany, for example. In this video, the viewer navigates from different places-of- interest in the search of clues for a ‘hidden treasure’. Instead of just listing out places of interest, this video is putting the viewer in control and gamifying the experience.

As part of the same campaign for visit Germany; on the left, the viewer finds someone’s camera and is challenged to navigate from location to location to hunt down the correct owner. And on the right, they have to visit food, drink and entertainment places in order to organise a friend’s party in Leipzig.

This concept represents an untapped opportunity in the Icelandic travel market. Through the strategic use of gamification, we aim to craft a distinct and immersive user experience that does more than just engage — it captivates, excites, and sparks curiosity. This approach not only promises higher conversion rates but also fosters organic sharing and viral potential, ultimately bolstering your bottom line.

Personality Quiz
By adopting the engaging format of personality tests, we can precisely tailor purchase options and travel plans to align with each user's unique preferences. This approach, enriched with captivating user stories and straightforward decision-making, enhances our ability to categorize leads effectively, boosts return on investment (ROI), and customizes the Iceland travel experience for each user on a grand scale. Intriguing, isn't it?

Video Hubs

Video hubs serve as a centralized platform where viewers can access a diverse array of videos tailored to their interests. This innovative tool is perfect for consolidating your video content, allowing users to effortlessly explore various adventures at their own pace. Take Big Green Egg as an exemplary case: they've successfully harnessed video hubs to engage their audience with captivating content about local producers in Somerset. From showcasing unique culinary creations with the Big Green Egg to delving into sustainable farming practices, they've created an interactive and informative experience that resonates with viewers.

Use games for more engagement:

The above examples showcase interactive video magic in tourism. But here’s the twist: we’ve also launched campaigns featuring minigames inside videos, blending fun with discovery in a way that truly sticks with viewers. For example:

Where's Waldo

We craft vibrant street scenes teeming with activity, challenging viewers to find hidden items or characters. Imagine searching for Icelandic delicacies, renowned local personalities, or iconic symbols of Iceland. Drawing inspiration from the Crew Room video, where users click to identify errors or potential sound recording disruptions, we can adapt this concept into a captivating 'spot the difference' game or a treasure hunt for hidden gems within the video. This interactive approach not only engages but also educates viewers about Icelandic culture in a fun and immersive way.

Matching The Sounds

This game invites players to pair the perfect soundtrack with stunning visuals or to match ambient sounds with quintessential Icelandic scenes. Taking a cue from the Crew Room experience, where participants chose the music that best complemented each scene, we aim to create a similar immersive experience. By engaging users in this way, we not only enhance their connection with the imagery but also deepen their appreciation for Iceland's unique atmosphere.

Simulator

This game, with its intricate design, should be deployed thoughtfully. It tasks users with navigating a car or piloting a boat through timely clicks. Perfect for showcasing destinations with river-crossings and Highlands adventures, the only requirement is a point-of-view (POV) video. Drawing inspiration from an engaging experience developed for Porsche, we can craft a compelling interactive journey that highlights the unique aspects of each location - experiencing Iceland through the eyes of energetic exploring tourists.

Timed-click

In this engaging scenario, users are tasked with clicking a button precisely when a gauge reaches the optimal level. We can apply a similar concept using drone footage: imagine a target moving across the screen, and players must click exactly when the target aligns with a point of interest, such as the erupting volcano or Skogafoss. A misstep sends the drone veering off course, but a timely click rewards users with a captivating drone-led tour through the chosen location, offering a unique and immersive exploration experience.

Hidden Image

Another standout concept from Crew Room challenges viewers to compose the perfect camera shot. However, the potential applications extend far beyond. This interactive mechanic can be brilliantly utilized to uncover hidden elements within an image or to navigate through panoramic or 360-degree videos, offering users a dynamic way to engage with and explore breathtaking landscapes (something we have of abundance in Iceland). This approach not only enhances viewer interaction but also invites a deeper appreciation of the visual content.

Simon Says / Correct Order

This engaging game requires users to put things in the correct order. A prime example comes from Big Green Egg, where users were tasked with assembling the egg correctly. This concept can be creatively expanded to include constructing a renowned building piece by piece or matching iconic landmarks to the silhouette of a city's skyline. Such activities not only entertain but also educate users by offering them a hands-on experience with the intricacies of famous structures, the distinctive profiles of city landscapes, and notable spots and features in rugged natural environments.

Quizzes

Quizzes transform learning into an engaging game. Take Big Green Egg's approach, for example, they motivated their resellers to dive into a brief history of their product through an interactive quiz. Later, the challenge escalated as resellers were tasked with identifying which renowned chefs and notable locations have utilized this celebrated product. This method not only makes the learning process enjoyable but also reinforces knowledge retention and deepens the understanding of the product's legacy and reach.

Employing this technique for the Icelandic tourism market provides a simple ability to transform the knowledge of visitors and further enrich their experience along the way.
